www.imstayingsober.com has served its purpose and I am letting the domain expire. The content will remain available; only the domain name is going away. Updates to it have decreased significantly since I established rAAnch as my main recovery blog. I used imstayingsober as an outlet for my early recovery thoughts and such. As my recovery has progressed, I have made more friends and have grown in my comfort in sharing in real life what I shared so freely here with the faceless Internet community. I doubt imstayingsober will be updated anymore, but one never knows. Perhaps there will come a time when I need to completely spill it here before I can share it in real life. Thanks for stopping by. The permanent URL for imstayingsober is here. I'll place a link on rAAnch, too. Thanks for stopping by. Have a day! (You choose what kind...) Sam Thursday, June 23, 2005
Thank you for visiting my site. It is a diary of my battle with alcoholism and my growth in recovery. I've been posting on it since May 12, 2003. Originally, this was a blog that was open to the world, but I have now password protected it. It's still open; you just have to email me to get the username and password. When I started this diary, I doubted anyone would read it. It was purely a way for me to help myself get sober and see where I'd been. Then Celestial Blue emailed me one day and offered her friendship. She suggested I add Haloscan so that we could carry on conversations about my posts. I did and we did and we became great friends quickly. As our friendship has grown, I've wanted to interact with her (and new friends I've made on the web) more and more, and in that interaction, I've wanted to include my main site, www.samiam.com. The problem with having web friends interact with both sites is that the risk of my local friends making their way to my diary site is greatly increased. Much of the content of my diary is about my interactions with my local friends. I do not want to hurt them and have never used their names in any entries, only the initial of their first name. Still, many local friends would easily figure out who is who and I'd rather that didn't happen. Yes, I am aware that once something's on the 'Net, it's pretty much out there forever. I'm also aware of an adage about locks only keeping out honest people. Well, I have confidence in the honesty and goodness of my friends. 'Nuff said. So, if you'd like to gain access to my site, please email me and I'll give you the key. If you'd rather not go through that, I understand; I probably wouldn't, either. Still, it's the only solution I can come up with right now. If you have a suggestion, please let me know. Thanks, Sam Last Post: 12 November 2005 |
