Pudding:
1 cup of sugar
1 heaping tablespoon flour
4 egg yolks (save egg whites)
2 cups milk
Other:
vanilla wafers
4-6 bananas
Meringue:
4 egg whites
˝ cup sugar
In sauce pan, put in all pudding ingredients and cook until thick, DO NOT BOIL. Stir almost constantly – set to side to cool. Line oven proof bowl with vanilla wafers, add thick layer of sliced bananas and just enough pudding to cover. 2nd layer: More wafers, sliced bananas and cover with rest of pudding. Meringue: Beat egg whites with electric beater until white peaks, add sugar, beat. Put on top of pudding making sure it goes to the edges of the bowl. Bake 400 degrees for about 5 minutes.
